Updated: Aug 22, 2020

Approximately 20 riders met at a bright 7:30am at Sam’s Diner and split into two separate groups for the early 40km circuit going up the Armagh Rd to Middletown, turning for Caledon, Aughnacloy and finishing in Emyvale for a coffee prior to meeting the main groups for 9am spins.

Over 50 riders met outside Glaslough Harriers for 9am departure. They split into various groups mainly heading for Glaslough, Silverstream, Braddox, Ballybay, Newbliss, Clones (coffee stop), Newtownbutler, Donagh, Roslea, Monaghan and home. 110kms.

The leisure group went from Emyvale to Tydavnet, Scotstown, Roslea, Donagh, Derrylin, Belturbet (coffee stop), Clones, Monaghan and home. An impressive 122km.

A small novice group of riders followed the same route as far as Ballybay where they had a coffee stop and headed back to Monaghan and home. 55kms.

On the racing front, Fintan Sherry competed in the Mount Nugent GP on a wet miserable Saturday with a large field of riders. The short scratch race was run by Navan Road Club and held on a 5km circuit for a total distance of 50kms. Despite multiple attempts there was no clear break until a bunch of four riders edged ahead by 10 seconds. They managed to hold the distance to the finish line. Fintan came home successfully with the main bunch.
