May Bank Holiday Weekend 2026
Over the May Bank Holiday weekend (1st–3rd May), a large group from Emyvale Cycling Club made the journey to the stunning surroundings of Donegal Town for what proved to be a truly memorable trip.

From start to finish, the weekend was filled with great cycling, plenty of laughs, and even better company. A special mention must go to Donegal Bay Cycling Club, whose members were exceptional hosts—supporting our riders and expertly leading the groups on each spin across Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Cycling conditions were mostly ideal, with fine weather enhancing the experience. True to Irish tradition, however, one group encountered all four seasons in a single outing, adding a touch of adventure (and plenty of stories) to the weekend.
Off the bike, the Central Hotel provided the perfect base, with members enjoying excellent food, warm hospitality, and lively entertainment. Even after long days in the saddle, there was still energy to spare, with some taking to the dance floor each evening to round off the day in style.

Above all, the weekend was a refreshing break—an opportunity to explore new roads, reconnect with friends, and enjoy everything that makes club cycling so special.
A sincere thank you to Donegal Bay Cycling Club for helping make the weekend such a great success and one that will be fondly remembered.
