What’s planned
The session will be delivered by Cycling Ireland‑accredited Group Ride Leaders from Emyvale Cycling Club and will begin with:
Free bike safety checks
Free bike skills session
Guided cycle
These activities will take place and start at the car park of St Mary’s Church, Glennan, Glaslough, Co. Monaghan (H18 YT20). The focus of this initial session is on road safety, basic cycling skills, and ensuring all bikes are safe and roadworthy before heading out.
A guided cycle spin
Following the skills session, participants will have the choice of joining one of two guided cycle routes, both fully led and guided by our experienced Cycling Ireland-Accredited Group Ride Leaders:
🚲 Option #1: 14km route - family spin
Starting from Glenna Church car park
Travelling via the L‑5207 to Corracrin
Connecting onto the N2 Greenway into Emyvale
Finishing with refreshments in Emyvale
Approximately 14km round‑trip
🚲 Option #2: 8km route - family spin (short route)
Starting from Glenna Church car park
Cycling to Glaslough village
Continuing onto Donnagh Row (L‑11701)
Returning to Glennan Church car park
Approximately 8km round‑trip
The shorter route ensures the event remains accessible and inclusive, particularly for younger cyclists or those newer to cycling.
