It was a busy and enjoyable weekend for our members, with great weather, quality events, and plenty of bike time.

On Saturday 18 April, the Donegal Spring Sportive, organised by Donegal Bay Cycling Club, took place in near‑perfect conditions. The sunshine and clear skies provided an ideal backdrop to enjoy the stunning scenery that Donegal has to offer. Club members Barry Murray, Fergus Murray, and Tommy Martin took part and thoroughly enjoyed the day’s riding.

Also on Saturday, a number of our members completed a Sports First Aid Course delivered by Jamielee McGirl of Pro Training. This was a fantastic opportunity to learn valuable - and potentially life‑saving skills. A big thank you to everyone involved in organising and delivering this excellent session.

On Sunday 19 April, the fine spring weather continued, and it was great to see such a strong turnout from the club. Large groups took to the roads for their morning spin, with around 50 members out enjoying the ride together—a great end to a brilliant weekend of cycling and club activity.

Declan Mc Entee lined out in the competitive C2 race in the Alan Towel Memorial Road Race, promoted by Banbridge Cycling Club, which took place on the scenic but demanding roads between Dromore and Hillsborough in County Down. Riders were treated to a challenging course set against a backdrop of rolling spring countryside.
