Eddie completes prestigious II Lombardia Gran Fondo

October 2026

Emyvale Cycling Club would like to congratulate club member Eddie Keelan on successfully completing the Il Lombardia Gran Fondo in Italy, one of Europe's most challenging and prestigious amateur cycling events.

Held in the shadow of the famous Il Lombardia, known as the Race of the Falling Leaves, the event attracts cyclists from around the world who are keen to test themselves on the same roads that have featured in one of professional cycling's most iconic one-day races.

This year's challenge saw participants tackle approximately 110 kilometres of demanding terrain, including around 2,500 metres of climbing through the hills and mountains of the Lombardy region. The route combines long ascents, technical descents and spectacular scenery, providing a true test of endurance, determination and preparation.

Completing an event of this scale requires months of training and dedication. The demanding profile of the course makes it a significant achievement for any cyclist, regardless of experience level.

Everyone at Emyvale Cycling Club extends their congratulations to Eddie on a fantastic achievement.
