Windmill CX delivers thrilling Cyclocross action in Dungannon
Sunday, 1st November 2026

Sunday 1st November saw riders and spectators descend on Windmill CX in Dungannon, Co. Tyrone, for a fantastic day of cyclocross racing promoted by Island Wheelers.

With crisp autumn conditions giving way to sunshine, the event attracted almost 150 participants across men's, women's and youth races, creating a vibrant atmosphere from start to finish.

The races were enthusiastically supported by a large crowd, whose encouragement added
to the excitement throughout the day.

A strong field of regular cyclocross competitors lined up alongside many newcomers to the discipline, particularly in the women's and youth categories, highlighting the continued growth and popularity of the sport.

The challenging Windmill CX course proved to be both fast and demanding. A significant climb midway through the lap tested riders' strength and endurance, ensuring competitors had to dig deep to reach the finish line.

Credit goes to Island Wheelers for delivering a well-organised and enjoyable event, while thanks are also due to Dany Blondeel and Toby Watson for capturing the action through a superb collection of photographs.
Emyvale Cycling Club Representation
Emyvale Cycling Club was represented across several race categories:
Dara McKenna - A1 Race
Barry Cassidy - A2 Race
Conan Cassidy - U10 Race
All three riders put in strong performances and showcased the club with determination and commitment.

It was especially encouraging to see young rider Conan Cassidy taking part in the youth race, representing the next generation of Emyvale Cycling Club racers. With enthusiasm and dedication already evident, Conan is certainly a rider to watch in the years ahead.
A Great Day for Cyclocross
Windmill CX once again demonstrated everything that makes cyclocross such an exciting sport. Competitive racing, a welcoming atmosphere, strong spectator support and excellent organisation combined to create a memorable day for riders and supporters alike.

Congratulations to Island Wheelers, all participants, and the Emyvale Cycling Club members who proudly represented the club on the day.
